Biltmore Estate
Located on U.S. 25 three blocks north of Exit 50 on I-40.
The 8,000 acre estate features America's largest residence, gardens, and a winery. Hours: 9 a.m - 6 p.m. Open year round except Christmas,
Thanksgiving, and New Years Day.

Chimney Rock Park
Located at Hwys. 74-A & 64 (25 miles southeast of Asheville)
Enjoy a 75 mile view of the Blue Ridge and walk the trails to

Conemara, The Carl Sandburg Home
3 miles south of Hendersonville in Flat Rock.
A beautiful 263 acre estate where the poet raised prize winning goats.
Hours: Open daily, guided tours given daily except Christmas.

Folk Art Center
Located on the Blue Ridge Parkway, just east of Asheville
Home to the Southern Highland Craft Guild, includes museum galleries,
craft exhibits, demonstrations, and a sales shop.

Grandfather Mountain
Located on U.S. 221 between the Parkway and Linville, exit milepost 305.
Features incredible views, the Mile High Swinging Bridge, native wildlife (bears), hiking trails and a theatre.  Open daily 8 a.m. - 7 p.m.

The Health Adventure

Mount Mitchell State Park
Located on the Blue Ridge Parkway, exit milepost 355.
Mt. Mitchell is the highest peak east of the Mississippi River, featuring
a lookout tower, restaurant, and picnic areas.  Open daily.

Thomas Wolfe Memorial
Located in downtown Asheville, 52 N. Market Street.
The boyhood home of the author Thomas Wolfe (Look Homeward, Angel) is currently closed for tours (for repairs) but the Visitor Center is open.

Zebulon Vance Birthplace
Located at 911 Reems Creek Road near Weaverville.
Vance Birthplace is the reconstructed 1830s mountain farmstead where Zebulon Vance, NC's Civil War governor was born.
